The parka is very heavily stained with what looks like white paint. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition, and is actually one of the newest parkas we have, entering service in 2017. The only refurbishment needed was replacement drawstrings, in addition to dry-cleaning. Beneath the staining, the color is pretty bright, with only light fading.
Did you know that each Big Red used by the USAP program has a serial number written on the inside flap of one of the pockets? This serial number, used to help the program keep track of their gear, usually includes the parka size and the year it entered service.

All have seen service in one or more of the three American Antarctic research stations, unless specified otherwise in the product’s description. As such, they will show some degree of wear/tear/use.
