Product Description

Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) gear is provided to participants in the United States Antarctic Program (USAP), including Carhartt jackets. Highly insulated Carhartt overalls and jackets are a popular choice among outdoor workers in Antarctica, especially since the “Big Red” parkas can feel bulky and overly warm during the summer season. These Carhartt jackets, often issued as work gear, feature arctic quilt lining designed to offer comfort in cold environments.

Many of these jackets are vintage, with tags that are heavily faded, making it difficult to distinguish between the J002 and J02 models. As a result, we are offering them under a single listing. Each of these Carhartts represents a unique piece of Antarctic history, carrying its own story!

Visit the Carhartt website to view their size chart.

Condition Description

Individual jackets will vary. Each one of these jackets is a unique piece of Antarctic history, with a story to tell! You will receive a randomly selected parka of the size you choose.

These jackets are in usable/wearable condition but will show wear and tear, due to heavy use in Antarctica. Some of these jackets may have very small holes in sleeves, pockets, or lining. All jackets will show wear like field patches, fading, staining, paint spots, missing zipper pulls, etc. They may need to be washed/cleaned after purchase.

All jackets are 100% wearable and functional.
