Description
Extreme Cold Weather (ECW) gear is issued to United States Antarctic Program (USAP) participants, Carhartt jackets among them. Ultra-insulated Carhartt overalls and jackets are usually a favorite among outdoor Antarctic workers, particularly as the “Big Red” Parkas can be both bulky and too warm for everyday use in the Summer season. These Carhartts are commonly issued as work jackets and have arctic quilt lining that provides comfort in cold conditions.
Many of these parkas were used many years prior, and most have extremely faded tags. Unfortunately, this means we cannot reliably tell the difference between the J002 & J02 models. As such, we are offering these jackets under a single listing. Individual jackets will vary. Each one of these jackets is a unique piece of Antarctic history, with a story to tell! You will receive a randomly selected parka of the size you choose.
The model in the image is 6’2”, 230lbs, and wearing a size Large.
