This “Big Red” parka entered service in 1991. The manufacturer of the parka is unknown, but we do know that it was made in the USA. The biggest noticeable differences between this parka and the usual Canada Goose Big Red are the lack of a reflector, the cuffs and the black strap on the back of the hood. The parka’s front-right, bottom pocket has been replaced and the pocket replacement stands out quite a bit. There’s one visible repair in the middle of the back and another on the interior of the hood. The patch and one of the front pockets shows visible wear visible wear. The parka is lightly UV faded and shows light staining.
Did you know that each Big Red used by the USAP program has a serial number written on the inside flap of one of the pockets? This serial number, used to help the program keep track of their gear, usually includes the parka size and the year it entered service.
This parka’s USAP serial number is: 91XS4
